Julia Dębowska was born on October 16, 1998 in Toronto. She is the daughter of Renata Rej-Dębowska  (musician and piano teacher) and Zbigniew Dębowski (musician, tenor-vocalist and classical guitar teacher).

In 2004 Julia won first prize in the Recitation of Polish Poetry in Toronto, organized by The W. Reymont Foundation. She was awarded a summer trip to Poland to take part in a national recitation competition in Reymont's birthplace and she also won an Award there.

 

        

 

Julia is also very talented in vocal and piano playing. She completed Grade IV examination with Distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Julia also won prizes competing in local music festivals like The Kiwanis, Peel, Davenport, and Burlington Music Festival. Julia not only sings classical music songs (Chopin, Brahms, Schubert, Moniuszko), but also songs from movies: The Sound of Music, Sous le Ciel de Paris, Black Orpheo, as well as Polish, Spanish and Italian popular songs.

 

  

 

Julia is a member of a Polish Theatre in Toronto called The Salon Poezji, Muzyki i Teatru led by the very experienced actress Maria Nowotarska. Her last performance in the show “Uśmiechy Lwowa” was very successful where she performed „Balladę o Pannie Franciszce”. She also performed the Neapolitan song "Santa Lucia" in the next show "Letnia Serenada 2009" in the gardens of the Polish Consulate in Toronto.
